BACKGROUND
The use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has revolutionised the
way we analyse and manage spatial data, offering immense potentials for
Manpower, National and Economic Development.
GIS Technology allows us to visualise, interprete and analyse data in ways
that were previously unimaginable, providing valuable insights that can
inform decision-making processes and shape policies for sustainable
development.
AIM/OBJECTIVE
The Workshop is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills
necessary to avail the numerous benefits of GIS to State Governments.
These includes improved decision making, increased efficiency, enhanced
collaboration and better resource allocation in addition to the benefits to
diverse MDAs.
TARGETED PARTICIPANTS
Permanent secretaries, Directorate Personnel of Planning, Research and
Statistics (PRS), Agronomists, Engineers, Engineers, Geologists, Hydrologists
and Urban Planners of State Ministries of Agriculture, Education,
Environment, Health, Housing and Urban Development, Water Resources,
Works and Infrastructure, Transport and Emergency Services/Rescue.
