National Workshop on The Application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Management.
Disaster and Emergency Management in Nigeria is characterised by flaws, late response, faulty approach and thereby resulting in extensive losses.
Futher to the 3-Day Train Trainers Practical Workshop on the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Manpower, National and Economic Development in Nigeria held on 27th - 29th August, 2024 at Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Kubwa, Abuja and the Comprehensive Practical Training/Workshop on GIS as a Catalyst for Development held on 12th - 14th March, 2025 at the same venue, in which the importance of GIS in Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Management were articulated and exposed, we have been dynamically challenged to organise this workshop.
Against the background of the fact that the knowledge and application of GIS can forecast and prevent disasters as well as manage disaster and emergency situations effectively, we are pleased to invite you and relevant officials to participate in the Nationa; Workshop on the Application of Geographic Information System (GIS) For Disaster Risk and Emergency Management.
