On June 25th and 26th, 2024, the National Workshop on Improving Land Administration and Control for Economic Growth was held at the Tafawa Balewa Hall of Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja. The event brought together key stakeholders from government, academia, and the private sector to address the critical issue of land administration and its impact on economic development.
The workshop commenced with opening remarks from the Special Guest of Honor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Hon. Minister of Budget and Economic Planning. Represented by Mr. Henry Makinwa, Deputy Director, Economic Growth of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, the Minister emphasized the importance of land as a fundamental asset for economic growth. He highlighted the need for efficient and transparent land administration systems to unlock the potential of land resources and facilitate investment.
The workshop had the following objectives:
