The Supreme Court Landmark ruling of 11th July, 2024 granting Financial Autonomy to Local Governments has given real manifestation to the Nigerian Federation resting on a tripod of Federal, State and Local Governments.
The granting of Financial Autonomy and attendant empowerment has bestowed on the Local Governments not only responsibilities but also high performance expectations-expectations of dividends of democracy, expectations of good governance, expectations of improved living conditions, expectations of socio-economic upliftment of rural communities etc.
Against this background, Local Government Administrations in Nigeria need to be dynamically prepared to rise to the challenges of making a success of the Local Government System for the Soci-Economic upliftment of rural Nigeria. Hence this Workshop.


AIMS AND OBJECTIVES 
The Workshop with 8 Thematic Areas has the following Aims and Objectives
To Rejig Local Governance. 
To build and Strengthen the Capacity of Local Governments in Service Delivery. 
To Promote the Right Operating Environment for Local Governments to thrive. 
To Provide Initiatives and Solutions for an enduring Local Government System in Nigeria. 
In this wise, pleased to invite Local Governments and other officials in Local Government Administration and Policy Making to the National Workshop on Making a Success of the Local Government System for the Socio-Economic Upliftment of Rural Nigeria Scheduled to hold as follows:
